Ah, different omissions on different web sites... I had assumed Maybach Memories replaced the diesel service rather than being an addition, with the re-timing due to limited stops (I'm not a timetabling expert!). Excellent - looking forward to it even more now!

TBH I can't think of a a better place to be hanging around than BL or any WSR station taking refreshment in the cafe and chatting to like minded people , girding your loins so to speak for your trips the Western .

"Wouldn't it be nice" schemes looked down upon by some, and mischievously suggested by others. :)

It is an acronym for "wouldn't it be nice" a classic gricer's sentimental suggestion that would involve others in hard work and expense. Usually but not exclusively, associated with restoration or recreation of over large locomotives or romantic railway extension projects.

I doubt the WIBN (the women one) would apply to preservation as they generally have a firmer grip on money than men. :D

With the closing date for applications for WSRA trustee coming up soon I am in 2 minds to put my name forward. I understand that there will be around half of the seats that are in need of filling. I was wondering if anybody else on this forum was thinking of standing?
The closing date is 7th July so not long to decide.

I would have thought that the most appropriate Beach Boys track for the W.S.R. would be 'Heroes & Villains'
