An unusual move on the WSR yesterday evening.

Late running earlier in the day caused the evening QB to leave Bushops Lydeard 45 minutes late, and to get it back on time we turned it round at Blue Anchor rather than Minehead.

    See photo below.

Very rare to have an up departure from the down platform there. Examples limited to extreme circumstances as identified by @West Somerset Wizard from 1979 as further below...

I think we have a basic Syzygy issue here, maybe you could translate you post in plain English rather than Clingon or whatever it is.

Unless is of course offensive to some members of the railway enthusiast fraternity.

In which case best leave the obscurity cloaking device in place

    Jeff

    Clingon's long gone

Except in this case, it would be a reduction in hard work, in that cutting back would be completely halted over the relevant section of track.

Well as I'm sure a man of your stature can plainly see, the Message apparently in question was in direct reply, quoting even, a message from Anthony where he was saying what a nice time he had today on the western (52) hauled service, as we are all now on the same page the rest is straight forward

Firstly I asked how many were on it, now admititly that could have meant aardvarks, but I thought that most would interpret that as passengers which is indeed what I meant
Then I mentioned I was on the 1530 yesterday, now as there was a 1530 train from Minehead yesterday using the aforementioned 52 again I thought that didn't need any further explanation , cranks which I'm sure you are aware means passengers who were only travelling for a ride behind the again aforementioned 52, normals being just passengers having a ride out on the railway not the loco in of itself
And windows are pieces of glass to see through to see the outside and stickers are printed bits of ,paper in this instance, stuck to the window

But what if some of the normals were cranks in disguise?? A sort of "stealth-crank" :Shamefullyembarrased::Shamefullyembarrased:

Don't believe all the other posts.

Steam enthusiasts who keep coming back for the same loco's valve gear are, presumably, return cranks.

If an enthusiast uses a loco number as his credit card code, would that be a Crank Pin ?

I reckon most enthusiasts if presented with a series of numbers that could be a loco number, that'll be how they remember it!

Well I have several cards for various things - every pin is a loco number as it's the only way I can remember them not all ex GWR either!!!

Not so simple, much like trimming a hedge (or indeed somewhat like topiary). You have to keep letting the shoots grow as thickly as possible but cutting them back to the desired profile.

Not necessarily - there's at least one number I use that reminds me of an EMU;)
