i would say send a pm to Derby 2 , he is a very senior MNRPS member, enclose a file of your shot, i'm sure they would welcome any photographic mementos of the day, and if the photos are good enough (i think your is) then if they decide to do something special of 35028's 50th year in preservation, they will be able to contact you .
I Don't know if they have any plans for a book, etc but i think it may be a very good idea as a way to raise funds for the engine.

One can't hear a loco and one can't smell the surroundings on an air conditioned train. I hate them.

Think there is - try a jam packed Chiltern 168 with the a/con not working - give me a MK1 in the sun any time. (BTW the driver on said 168 apologised several times for the lack of a/con in the front coach and suggested we might like to try the drivers cab with windows on 3 sides - when we got to MYB I did mention he had opening windows!)

My video from yesterday's outstanding run. Clan Line was captured at Worting Junction, Shawford, Foxhills (near Ashurst), Beaulieu Road, Test Lane, Nursling, Walworth crossing and Winchfield.

I have seldom if ever been in an air conditioned train with a loco that I would have wished to hear or smell. (It remains to be seen how this will be addressed on the rake of MkIIIs being prepared for operation with Tornado.)

I add my hearty thanks to all involved in preserving and overhauling Clan Line, preserving and restoring the Pullmans, and operating yesterday's train. Also to all who have posted pictures and videos: if one chooses to ride one generally depends on others for the pictorial and auditory record, but here's a record shot of the loco and support coach at Poole, taken from the service train that took me back to Bournemouth after a visit to old friends in Dorchester.

One of my reasons for choosing to ride yesterday was that my parents had taken me on the Bournemouth Belle once when I was very young. I was too young to remember, and I have by now even forgotten when my parents told me it had been, but I think I was either a baby or at most two or three. (A lot more than 50 years ago!)

Yesterday's performance was phenomenal. Clan Line is one of those locomotives that puts a smile on people faces. Cheers to everybody!!!

Agreed...the acrid stench of brake pads in a Mk III coach, or the smell of sewage in a Pendolino or Voyager doesn't quite match up!

Good to meet you, yesterday James. As I was only a few feet away from you, I hope my shot comes out as well as yours! The blue milepost which concerned me as potentially spoiling the shot is hardly noticeable.

Hi Wayne. The flipping 2041 up fast stubbornly sat at Platform 2 as the clock tick towards 2042. I knew you were close as RTT already confirmed you were around Brookwood. With fairly long sections, it took ages for it to clear the necessary sections to give you the all clear although by the time you passed through you were had greens, but just a tad too late!! Didn't spoil the spectacle though!!

Thank you, it was a perfect sunny day, just as I remember a MN chattering along with just a haze from the chimney. I wen to the flats near Waterloo 50 years ago but the residents, fed up with being besieged by enthusiasts called the police and we were thrown off. I was determined not to miss it this time.

Can I also add my congratulations to all those involved on this run, admirably captured in many photos and videos here. The immaculate presentation of the locomotive, and its apparently flawless performance on a heavy load straight out of overhaul, are a credit to the MNLPS and an inspiration to us all.
