Mid Hants Railway - End of Southern Steam Gala 1-2, 8-9 July 2017

Can I just say sir, I think the shot of 35006 passing 34058 is absolutely stunning - a brilliant photo!

 

A fantastic couple of weekends, to all of those on the Mid Hants and elsewhere who were involved and worked so hard to make everything happen - thank you for a brilliant event and a fitting commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of Southern steam in '67.

Avery fitting way to celebrate 9/7/67,50 years on,its been a week to be grateful also that we can, how long is 34081staying for? would there be any chance to have a line up of 34081, 850 and 925 on shed as all three depict the bulleid era of Southern liveries

If it was an end of southern steam gala shouldn't everything have been BR green.....

 

what i was asking was post the gala , if 34081 was going to be at Ropley for another week, but i understand from Ian is she leaves tomorrow

 

Sir Keith Park was in the loading dock at Arlesford in the rain this afternoon.

 

I wouldn't let the 34081 crew hear you say that or you may have to go into hiding.
Anyway, an end of Southern steam gala should have had the locos so grimy you couldn't tell what colour they were.

 

And some of the trips started with deisel traction, and breakdown at Alresford and an dirty unnamed pacific take its place a 800xx tank on an electrification train, conductor rails put in the stations .
