No ... everyone was well behaved on the trains I rode. Robert Batty's post, above, puts this in a different light.

There had to be an explanation ... it's not something I expected to see on a KWVR steam train.

Having enjoyed so many great days out on the KWVR over the last 50+ years, I guess I owe these guys an apology. :)

Footage from throughout the weekend is now on our website. A great weekend featuring the two visiting engines.

When it first arrived at the KWVR it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding but made a glorious noise while trying. It was then re-draughted and IIRC converted to a gas producer system a la the Austerity "Fred" and it was a changed engine after that.

I think it was already oil-fired at Longmoor.

Couldn't make this year, but be interested in attempting to visit any potential repeat event.

I think there's a market for it, things like the Beatties, Alfred and Judy, Martello and 1501 have become roving ambassadors for their respective bases. Obviously the cost of moving them around on a low loader also helps! And bringing up the dreaded 'L' word it's rather nice to see say the red of 71515 or Port of Par green on Alfred and Judy and hasn't another WD 0-6-0 just been outshopped in Longmoor blue? So maybe looking at the whole package a small loco in a nice bright livery, that's a bit different it may prove to be a nice little way of filling a certain Isle of Sodor sized gap... (Although you do have to draw the line somewhere at 'small' an L&Y pug is a tank engine but then so is a GW 72xx!) ;):p

Yes. "Rennes" at the Dean Forest. Had quite a nice run behind her a few weeks ago until a fallen tree outside Parkend stopped play.
