I'm booked on this and am looking forward to it. 46233 from Tyseley to Scarborough on the outbound and from Scarborough to Derby on the return. We're due to arrive into York about 90 minutes before 60103, so it'll be a busy day there I imagine. I'm also gratified to see on RTT an evening light engine move from Tyseley to Derby, confirming that the diesel haulage from Derby will not be sitting on the back of the train all the way up to Scarborough and back, it'll be meeting us at at Derby instead. I suspect if this had been any other operator than VT the diesel would have accompanied us on the back for most of the trip.

I guess that the regular WCR Scarborough Spas and Dalesmans, both running without the diesel on the steam sections even with 13 on over the S&C don't count...

I've heard some suggestions that steam will only be to Barrow Hill now on the return and these timings would seem to back that up:

By the way, I've not seen this mentioned anywhere else but the onboard literature yesterday confirmed that November's Pannier trip, which still isn't listed on the VT website, will be Tyseley - Stratford on Avon - Bridgnorth (via SVR) - Tyseley. So it will essentially be a Shakespeare Express round trip and a SVR round trip which sounds absolutely amazing.

A couple of pictures from yesterday. I hadn't planned to follow this tour up to Yorkshire, but after waiting 2 hours to see the delayed A3 and the with the sun shining I thought why not!

Thundering away from Kingsbury Jn after getting the road for Tamworth.
