During the lambing season, protective behaviour from ewes is every bit as aggresive as anything by rams. The same is true of virtually all mammals.... so it's probably just as well orca aren't encountered too often around heritage lines in the UK.

Cows are considerably more dangerous than sheep just because of their size. Even a good natured cow can seriously injure without any ill intent. An enraged cow can be, and sadly often is, lethal. Regardless of the legalities the only sensible thing is not to take a dog into a field with cattle. Even the owners of cattle are not immune to be killed by cows. Many people think bulls are more dangerous than cows, but a cow, particularly one with young can be just as ferocious.

I do think we would all like to see the railway being run as
it was in the 1950s or earlier for some but I do realise that it would be foolish to jepordise safety just so it
    looked in period .
    Paul.

..... or expect anyone to do it, day in day out for 1950s levels of pay

Why would it jeopardise safety? I wish we could recreate that atmosphere of camaradarie & friendliness that existed between railwaymen of all ranks in those days. But then some things are indefinable. I guess thats why we look back with nostalgia at those days, well I do at any rate.

You will hear it called that but I'm not sure it's actually the correct way to pronounce it. Perhaps somebody could ask Alexa to say it? :)

Of late this thread seems to be attracting much fauna based discussion. Perhaps the WSR could investigate the possibility of brake van shooting tours as a potential revenue stream?!

I note two toads en route to NF.

    http://cgibin.wsr.org.uk/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?h=Snapshot&p=2017/08/003 shows them at MH.

I did wonder if Robin had acquired a breeding pair.:D

Unfortunately D6575 is a failure at the moment, battery charging issue again.
Someone is going to have a look at it tomorrow but unless it is something straightforward would expect its turns to be covered by D1661.
