With the home fleet all in operation plus the N2 and 44767, things look very healthy on the motive power front, even if 76084 does depart in the future.

Great news if 44767 is possibly going to Weybourne, I believe this was mentioned a couple of years but nothing happened. No doubt the superb team in the works at Weybourne will sort the 5mt out, that should be simple after seeing some of the work they tackle!
If this happens there will be five named locos (Wissington, Ringhaw, Black Prince, 90775 and George) on that line after the WD is named, must be a heritage railway record!

Also Livingston Thompson out on loan, James Spooner and Leary (II) under construction, and the mortal remains of Jane, Sandra, The Colonel and The Lady Diana around Glanypwll. (Busta, Moelwyn and Mary Ann not currently carrying their names, but are still referred to by them). In fact I think the only FfWHR locos *without* names are 87, 109, 130, 133, 134, 138, 140, 143 (the South African locos, and one of them was named for a while) and Diesels No. 9, Mike Hart's protected Simplex and KS4415.

Five named standard gauge steam locos on the NNR, might be a Norfolk heritage railway record!

Would be great to see 44767 back. Maybe in the future Mayflower will make a visit too.

What about 'Topsy'? The first loco built at Blodge surely desrves a mention! Did anyone ever identify the mysterious 'Rachel Parry' mentioned in a local rag during the closed time?

And wasn't a certain Ffesterbahn ex-sewerage works loco known by an interesting, if unofficial, moniker?

Putting 44767 back into traffic will be a real challenge and probably a lot of money for somebody.

Has NELPG no longer got any involvement with 44767?

The article I read stated that the NNR was partly funding the overhaul of 44767 in exchange for a period of use on the line. Similar, maybe, to the previous arrangement with the 76084 group.

Was there ever a formal arrangement?

I thought so but perhaps it is long ceased. was it not though in part why 'George Stephenson' became its given name plus I thought Ian Storey is/was NELPG president as well as some senior engineering role? I seem to recall twenty odd years ago at ELR, 44767 visited and we later had a few NELPG locos, some of the support guys were in common but maybe nothing formal.

There was no formal arrangement. In the early days of the NYMR , NELPG effectively was the loco department and all the larger locos capable of working viable trains were owned by them or by their members, and the ones owned by members (the two Lambton tanks) became associated with NELPG. It was only when 45428, 1247 and later 841 arrived on the railway that this arrangement began to unravel.

Thanks for the background. Is/was Ian Storey NELPG president as well as owning 44767?

At the time we are talking of Ian was NELPG Chairman, I think he is President nowadays but I'm not certain.

The last photos I saw of it consisted of little more than a set of completely bare frames, a cab, part of a boiler and a completely dismantled tender.

Did it arrive with PRCLT as a more or less complete loco?
