Just went past the depot on 1430 Padd WSM. Pity I didn't have camera to hand, BR black 08 shunter moving BR livery 15xx Pannier and Foremarke Hall. Looked great in sunshine. Can't do open day as longstanding Railtour booking opposite end of the region. Looking forward to seeing photos however.

Bit tricky when they are committed to the Shakespeare express . Cancel a day if their regular summer operation is probably not a good idea

For a railtour from Tyseley to Paddington and back on the Saturday they wouldn't have needed to cancel Sunday's Shakespeare. 5043 did the Melton Rambler / Harringworth Shuttle on Saturday 12th and then Shakespeare Express the day after Sunday 13th.

So, there have been a number of photos around the internet of the assembled lines of locomotives at OOC this afternoon. For those who have not been following the stream of Facebook posts, 14901 is replacing D9516 and is currently on the back of a lorry bound for West London. Tornado, according to RTT, has arrived, and a pair of DRS 37s have reportedly been brought in "last minute" and are spending the night at Willesden Brent, before moving down early tomorrow morning. All I can say is, see you all tomorrow!

No queue at 12:00 and I take back my earlier comment lots to see and well laid out - but why do people have to stand so close to the locos when taking pictures ?

They probably stand so close because their compact cameras/phones have fixed focal length wide angle lenses and they have to stand close to get the loco to fill the frame.

I had a great time, well worth the journey down from Worcester, and I'll stick up some photos once I've weeded out all the ones where people wandered across the shot! As you might expect with the physical layout of the depot a few of the locos (such as 6023 and 7903) were located in fenced-off areas so couldn't be examined up close. The two photos of them above are likely the best shot you could get of them. The event could also probably have benefited from spreading out the stalls a bit more to allow an easier flow of foot traffic, rather than having "the refreshment clump", and "the trade clump" etc. The mass of people all queuing for refreshments in the middle of the day made navigating that particular part of the site a bit of an experience. Minor niggles aside though, the breadth of locos on display was really quite astounding and GWR are to be commended for giving OOC one last hurrah for it to be remembered by.

The Western went by rail in convoy from Kidderminster with four of the 50s. IIRC the Warship has been at OOC for about 3 years.

Had a great time at this excellent event. Thank you to everyone involved with organising the open day. It is reported that 9000 people attended.
It seems that 70013 and 6023 left last night as there is a video of their departure on Twitter. Anyone know where they went?
    Some mobile pictures below which we all probably took: IMG_-h4smyf.jpg IMG_-5vrgx6.jpg IMG_6vvtfl.jpg DSC_0211.JPG DSC_0207.JPG DSC_0196.JPG DSC_0201.JPG
