Ivatt Tanks 41312 and 41313

I note that this event hasn't hit the ESR website yet, which is currently showing the 10th and the 13th as the last operating dates for 41313.

Is the advertised timetable for the 16th likely to be amended to include more than four services during the day?

Is 41313 still rostered for Sunday 10th?

 

I believe so with the DMU running as well.

Ivatt Gala

Since the restoration of Ivatt class 2 tank loco 41313 was completed there has been considerable interest shown in the possibility of pairing it with fellow class member 41312 which is normally based on the Mid Hants Railway. The East Somerset Railway is therefore delighted to have arranged for 41312 to visit the ESR for a special Ivatt Gala on Saturday 16th September.

Running the two tank engines together is probably a unique occurrence in preservation, as there are only 4 preserved engines and especially as they are consecutively numbered. These two and many others were also used extensively in the south of the country, extensively on branch lines in BR days, so are very appropriate for the ESR.


Ivatt Gala Timetable:

10.30am Passenger service 41313 + 41312
11.30am Passenger service 41312
12.30am Passenger service 46447
2.00pm* Passenger service 46447 + 41312
3.30pm* Passenger service 41312 + 41313
*Please note there will be limited seating on these two services.

Fares for this event will be Adults £12, Concessions £11 (over 60s & the disabled), Children £7 & Families £28.

In addition, the ESR’s “Driver for a Tenner” driving experiences will be offered at the engine shed on loco 46447 or 41313 and footplate rides at £5.

Lineside photographic passes will be on sale from the Ticket Office on the day at £10. Hi-vis is essential!

It's a cream tea dining service so a TSO is taken off and replaced by 2 TSOs a BG and generator van. These are prebooked and reserved.
