Looking at the initial movements planned on RTT, and the alterations due to the late arrival at Carlisle, I presume that this has been done to try and get the train away again on time?

I would presume so, yes. I have full sympathy with the support crew who have had to service 60163 within 90 minutes. No mean feat. Nonetheless very disappointing to spend the whole day barely within earshot of the loco.

My sympathies there. Frustrating. However, this is the reality of ending up 'out of path' - and given the complexity of the next leg, particularly getting through the Leeds-Standedge-Manchester area, it's probably the most sensible way of trying to save some time. Sterling effort by those involved - hopefully you'll have a good run over the Long drag & then the climb to Standedge Tunnel later

My reading of workings in and out of Carlisle once timings were published was that the whole train was going to be turned. I don't believe it was an attempt to regain time...

Glad to see @BigAl has countered elegantly. Any coincidence its a non WC train that draws a negative remark?

A bit sad what happened at Skipton. I was all set to write brilliant operation by all to convert a 15L departure from Carlisle into on time past Holbeck. But it looks to me that for the sake of holding a local at Skipton for maybe four minutes, you got behind three locals plus the crossing movement at Shipley and lost maybe 20 mins on this stretch. I guess you will now run just ahead of the 1915 Huddersfield to Man Vic stopper from Marsden to Stalybridge. Anyway I gave you guys at the back a wave at Kirkstall Forge.
