So nearly 80 odd pages, 1542 posts and 6 months later and the article in Heritage Railway looks like it was spot on!! Though I still doubt the majority of posters actually read it..!

You should see some of the (mainly "supa swanky jacket like pet") hen parties that run round the streets here in York my friend!
I'll be at York Station tomorrow with a camera anyway (last week it was with a collecting tin for the RAFA Battle of Britain Wings Appeal - amazed at generosity of some railway passengers) so we'll see.

Living here does have some advantages but the parties don't always look like this.

 

Ahh well, the speculation and waiting is over. Looked magnificent approaching Wennington this morning, just after the sun came up.

Have to agree also, that they have turned her out in an authentic livery and done extremely well can only do Carnforth well, they are certainly handsome machines need to sort out the steam leak if it dont settle down of its own accord and get some reliability and who knows David Smith might come to love her over his LMS engines So whens the first trip over both the S&C and Shap, taking about which, is it hoping to much that the powers that be might say leave the pair on the CCE

Despite all the froth, I doubt anyone does a better paint finish than Carnforth.

I have often wondered if the rebuilds should have been renumbered into a new series As they do look more like a standard than anything else

 

Heard a report it may have failed, working on it at NRM.

 

There was a bit of a knocking sound as it passed, but it's still early days and probably needs to bed in. It's still a cracker, though.
