Does anyone have any word on the loco intended for this run? It would be rather nice to see 46233 with the yellow stripe going over Shap if it is only carrying it for a few months, but I guess one of the Jubilees at Carnforth is a more likely bet.

Yes indeed, reportedly it is to be repainted maroon during the winter but whether LMS or BR has not been confirmed.

Nothing down for the 14th on the PRCLT website but that can change at short notice

Agree would be very special to see 46233 with the yellow stripe over Shap but not in weather like last Saturday please.

It was on the PRCLT website earlier this year, so it now looks likely to be one of the Jubilees .

From the PRCLT webiste running dates page : -
"After hauling ' The Christmas White Rose' from York to Peterborough, 46233 will return to the West Shed for winter maintenance.
It is planned for the Duchess of Sutherland to emerge in Spring 2018 from the West Shed numbered 6233 having
been re-painted into the LMS Crimson Lake livery."

Not wanting to begin froth or denigrate the LMS choice, but BR maroon is nicest in my, irrelevant, opinion. Or blue.
Hope that is that a neutral enough comment. :)

I would like to see it in blue, but I believe they have stated they would not consider it.

That's very humble of you, but I think I detect a bit of West Coast bashing in your tone! ;)

I'd have liked BR maroon, but doesn't matter as long as there is a Duchess out and about with fire in her belly!
