The River class is a beauty....

 

I think the locos labelled Adams T6 are in fact the GNoSR locos sold to the SECR.

 

Indeed they are - SE&CR "G" class - http://www.semgonline.com/steam/g_class.html

Interesting that the loco has SR livery but still carries the SE&CR ownership plate on the cab.

You see, I'm gradually learning about those funny railways south of Crewe... Although in this case the locos were from more polar regions.

 

Sorry, the engine marked Adams T6 is indeed an Adams T6 - see https://sremg.org.uk/steam/x2-t6class.shtml

the Adams locos had outside cylinders whereas the Pickersgill engines had inside cylinders, and, as befits a loco originally designed for the Great North of Scotland, a far fuller cab than was usual in the southeast at the time
