Patience Grasshopper! .... Rather a decent comprehensive decision we have to wait a few months more too see than something half-cocked that 'a certain lady' can play merry hell with.

In the past and most likely still the case every time the application is altered any objectors, are sent the information that has been modified and are given 3 weeks? to reply to what they think of what has been modified, so each time the planners decide something need changing, it will most likely be two months for the alterations to be done and, sent into the planners for them to look at, and be sent out to the objectors and for them to reply and the planners to look at what the objectors say before it could come up to the planning meeting or sent back to be modified again.

You have to wonder if the same level of scrutiny had been applied in 1935 if the line would ever have closed...

Quite likely - the economics were dire. More likely, though, is that the expenditure pre-closure would not have been authorised and the line either run down or pre-emptively closed by the SR

Rather like a certain Gina Miller did with the legal challenge to Brexit, this necessity to examine and stress test the process, making 100% certain it is legally watertight will at least assure it's future unassailability in any court of law.
It's painful, to say the least, but we can take a small solace that this will all be costing her an arm and a leg.
Perhaps it'll all be over for Christmas!

The Rother Valley's application took about two and a half years to go through. It's not easy, unfortunately.

I am not saying we should all shut up but has it occurred to anyone else that what is said on here may just be getting back to a certain woman? As someone above has said let her spend her money on as many objections as she wants it will make not difference in the long run.

That had crossed my mind, these days, anyone with an obsessive objection over a particular subject, is more than likely to be searching for info or evidence on the net, to support their case.

The latest word I hear is that the railway is still responding with information as a result of input by objectors. I understand that ENPA are unlikely to call the planning meeting during December, so it therefore appears the planning decision will most likely be delayed until January or February.

I understand all this costs money, but I wonder at what point do we think about moving the whole operation to Blackmoor and let this sort itself out over time? or can we do both?

Odd. Apart from Mrs Grob's comical missive about Lyn from last month, the only update on the planning portal that I can find is a very belated letter of support from the Cullompton area

Here's a link to the main application for reinstatement of the railway line. The most recent individual responses will be found underneath the statutory consultees section:

Having said that, I've just seen a letter from Rowley Cottage regarding the financial viability of the scheme, but its a bit generic, and a route of objection which has been aired before...

Thanks Mark, if I was that pedantic I wonder if she had permission to use that photo as it is copyright I think. £30 million should do it I think.

That will depend on how many objectors and the nature of their complaints.
Just for info the CHR's TWAO has consumed much more time and money than envisaged. Submitted in March 2015 and provisionally granted in early 2017 but was subject to a period where further objections could be raised, happily this period passed without further complications and the act is now in full force.

This is my own observation on this but I would think there would be very little wiggle room left for any objectors once ENPA has grant planning permission for the railway.

The TWO might have some objectors and this will cost them money to do so, the thing is as I understand it with a TWO also comes responsibility and the use of compulsory powers. I am sure that the L&BR Trust don't want to go down that route, but if the situation became so untenable that they needed to, and it is me who is saying this, those would shout the loudest need to bear in mind, they could lose a lot more they they bargain for.

This is not a threat, but just one possible outcome as I see it, I just hope that I am wrong.
