The new buffers are only temporary, she'll need some proper Bulleid ones when she returns to steam. They do make her look a bit more loved tho in the meantime

Are these components from other locos or made by other groups? Appreciate you may not be able to say, but I was wondering if they were from 34073 and therefore giving some idea of her future?

They are coming from all over the country. The latest part we bought was from the 92 Squadron team.

People reading Steam Railway Magazine this month might notice that we’ve purchased another component that’s not be announced yet online.

Ah come on! You're asking me to break one of my rules to overcome my curiosity!

I'm becoming increasingly impressed with this (it's not even a GWR loco!) project. Might have to see if there's any spare cash left over after Christmas to sponsor a bit of it!

Impressive that this new group seems to be starting to make real progress. It says in the video that it is being moved ? Where to ? I would have thought though that the most important thing going forward would be to get undercover workshop space to keep it in and work on it, not easy I know.

We are preparing the locomotive to be moved, whilst working on it. We’ve begun oiling up all her axleboxes and ensuring she’s safe to move. She’s not moved for nearly 10’years so she’s going to take a bit of effort to get her going. Getting a new base is proving to be a tricky affair because of a combination of high rent people want and the size of the locomotive limiting our options. We are in talks with a railway which could prove to be the perfect solution but that’s still in the early stages.

December’s ‘Sponsorship Part of the month” are the axlebox covers for the pony and tender. The locomotive will require 8 in total with 2 already been sponsorsed. We have 6 more available at £100 each. If you’d like to sponsor or contribute towards the covers please get in touch.

Our nameplates that were sponsored by our members were cast last week by ProCast. I’m sure you’ll agree they look brilliant.
