I'm admittedly biased, and I don't have the photos to prove it, but I think the LNERCA's teak train is another contender!

Really liked 3930 and 9055, what with all that panelling.

Agree 100% A recreation of an LNER Express with the correct loco on the front. The GWR set is fine but a bit of a mish mash of liveries from different periods that don't go together historically

I think you'll find most trains back in the day were a mish-mash of styles and liveries.

They were but you wouldn't get a mix of post war built coaches and others in Pre 1928 livery.

The Wagons Lits set at the NVR, or the SVR's LMS set get my vote.

The Metropolitan bogie rake at the Bluebell would be my choice if we're talking Vicwardian elegance we can go and look at, today. If we're talking 1920s through to 1940s then the SVR's teak rake would take some beating.

For the future? I'm looking forward to the day when the Great Central Rolling Stock Trust's vision of a Victorian express becomes a reality.

I think that the Royal Scotsman would be a good contender as it has some nice coaches in the set

I suppose I should say the SVR Toplights 9055 and 3930 as am restoring another one myself, but how about the Coronation Scot for a contender (shame it isn't in Caledonian Blue with Silver stripes). It has one coach, its a train ! . My favourite loco type.

Brighton Belle was luxurious in its day.

The coaches put most people's homes to shame.

I was looking out from the balcony at The Engine House at Highley a couple of weeks ago and Port Talbot 0-6-0T 813 plus GWR inspection saloon on a private charter came into view - pretty as a picture!

the SVR has thrown a few surprises at me over the past few years and it's why I keep coming back.
