A few more details of what is happening at this event have now been posted.

The latest restoration job - An Austerity 0-6-0 tank - should make its first appearance, and the RVP "new build" diesel brake tender is making its debut as well.

The only genuine J94 survivors are 68077 and 68078. Neither are in working order. 68077, formerly at the K&WVR is now at the Spa Valley, stored and awaiting overhaul. Probably little will be done to it until 47493 is working. 68078, I think, is at Sellindge, keeping 35011 and 35025 company. At one time it was going to be overhauled and sent to the Kent & East Sussex but there may have been a change of plan. Maybe others know more?

A former Bold Colliery resident? Shame it's lost its NCB identity but at least it will be a working loco ere long.

Have some pics and sound recordings of Robert working at Bold. Back in the days when the safety briefing was along the lines of "keep your eyes open and don't get run over." :)

Like at the Goods Galore Gala in May, there will also be a 1230 Non/Stop Express on Saturday and 1235 On Sunday passing through a Quorn at 25mph.

I had a similar safety briefing when I used to go round March shed back in the 70s...

We never had a safety briefing at all bunking sheds in the 50s and 60s. :)

Absolutely although I do remember standing in a turntable road at Newport and being politely told by a nice Welsh gentleman that it was not a good idea when locos were running tender first!

My 4 year old knows don't go falling down the pit and watch for moving engines. Plus hold my hand. Mind due I think she already has more common sense than some adults!

Good day at the GCR today. Plenty of variety with lots of movements. Timetable frayed a little at the edges but it mattered not. The shed was open for viewing.

Had an enjoyable day at the railway yesterday. 68067 looks very smart in BR black.
The yard at Loughborough looked much emptier steam locomotive wise than it has in recent years - just 777 sitting outside the shed (it is out of ticket and withdrawn now I think?). The Standard 5 was in the shed, undergoing repairs:

I thought the rake of 11 recently restored vans they were using today was certainly impressive, particularly when they have all been put into this state in the last 8 or so months, as far as I know.....
