A fracture in the right hand cylinder block. Ian Riley reckons the repair will take a couple of weeks or more.

ah, I needed to sign in...so I guess you need to join/register to view, they are all volunteers and need money to keep the cams running..!

but on Crewe cam 3 you can see and hear the loco gently simmering.

    Cheers.

I saw on RTT that it left Hellifield 17E so thinking that it might slip through before the 14.46 from Clitheroe I made my way to Wilpshire just as fast as the traffic lights and speed cameras would allow. The bridge was deserted, oh no! Eventually RTT showed a RT departure for the 14.46 service train which duly arrived at Ramsgreave and Wilpshire at 15.01 (RT). At 14.52 45231 was shown passing Clitheroe (3E) making it due at Whalley around 15.00, it was not until 15.09 (3L) that the service train cleared Daisyfield Jn thus allowing 45231 to start the climb from Whalley (6ish L). 45231 was 10L at Ramsgreave and Wilpshire, looking resplendent, but not working particularly hard, the regulator was closed as the loco breasted the summit. The 8 coaches and the growling 37 passed under the bridge and headed for Blackburn; I headed home for a cup of tea - job done!

I was on the 14.46 from Clitheroe to Langho praying they wouldn't let her slip before it.

She stopped for about two minutes at the Golf Course bridge visible from Langho station, I doubt she would have slipped to a stop there considering the 37 on the back. Nothing amazing through Langho, she looked to be working hard, but the 37 opened up just past the platform and the loco almost seemed to shut off.

45231 had it's own support coach before change of ownership I believe. The blood and custard here doesn't look to be the same one, even if it had been repainted.

35465 today. Don't think 45231 had its own coach while based at Carnforth, ran with a WCRC one. HTH, AN

First coach back in this photo. Has a BR logo. I've only ever seen it behind 45231 and it seemed to go everywhere with it. It was quite faded up until 2013, but can't see a number on it.
