If I remember rightly, the support coach of No. 45231 was numbered 99241. Unsure what has happened to it, if part of the sale or has ended up elsewhere.

Dosn't IOS have a few support coaches? Going back to 2015 when 70000 and 46100 were at the SVR there were 2 carmine and cream BSK's on Bridgnorth yard. Not sure how many they (IOS) have but anything I've seen under their ownership loco wise always seems to have a blood and custard support coach behind it.

You are right, 99241 is the coach in Ian's pic. Now at Crewe according to the Railway Heritage Register.

My most recent photo of 99241 is 2013. Subsequently 45231 was running with a WCRC coach, eg 80217 in 2015:

That's the one. I've a photo of 45231 with 99241 repainted in August 2014 on a Fellsman run. WCR logo'd support coaches throughout 2015 as you say.

Sounds like 99241 went with the loco sale. Thanks for checking folks.

It's not just 45231 but does anyone know why the smokebox door is painted in gloss and the rest of the smokebox in matt? Off the top of my head I think 75014 is the same after it was out shopped earlier this year. Is there a particular reason for it or just painters preference, seems a little strange personally.

Quotes from Ian Riley on Thursday and Friday respectively...

"We have however discovered a fault within the boiler that will have serious consequences to the locomotives return to traffic."

"I think we will certainly be seeing 60009 out next season."

Does that mean 'out of service next year' or 'out on the railways [as normal] next year'? Not the best phrasing in the world!
