    The SNCB 0-6-0s (which were originally classed Type 32) were among 200 Belgian locomotives commandeered by the ROD (who also pinched 550 french locos) so presumably they had reached France ahead of the German advance and the progressive destruction of the Belgian network by saboteurs (only some 15% remained available to the Germans). Six of the 0-6-0s were shipped to Britain after the war for repairs (two each at Stratford, Swindon and Crewe) before being returned to help with the reconstruction of the network.

    It looks like it wasn't just the allies that 'acquired' the Type 32/44.....
