Ta very much - chords that are not quite in tune always give more interesting results, as do those in a 'minor key' (think tug boat) as apposed to the much more common 'major key' ones we usually hear on locos.

Indeed, one could argue that a deliberately Dissonant chord is more likely to alert / attract attention than a pleasantly harmonic one.

I have no formal misic training, just what I have picked up with a few books and drawings. I like the slightly raspy sound of such chime whistles. My favorate ones are the seven note ones which have three chamber lengths which are the same note but over two octaves. They have been dicribed as the sound of a Fargo ( a big hairy bovine type animal) these up in the mountains where an incredible sound.

Lucy has a mouth highly of 1.5 “ and chamber lengths of 5,7,9”

Why does WB not have the same kind of drawhook at the front as River Esk?

WB has a standard Ratty Bell Coupling. Esk had that and the Heywood attachment when new. At some point I suspect in the Sixties a hook was installed for aesthetic reason like Mite. I had concidered fitting a bell coupling but not so far as there is an adaptor.

I'm guessing its a tight fit on the turntable

From what I've seen, practically everything with the neccessary "Oomph" to lift a full passenger service to Dalegarth is a tight fit on the Ravenglass turntable!

Pendant mode engaged, that's the Dalegarth table, but I agree.

I've only ever seen long suffering crew separating tenders from visiting Romney locos at Ravenglass. Didn't realise Dalegarth tt is trickier! I love the location of turntables at La'al Ratty and watching locos turn seems quite a popular spectator sport at both ends of the line.

Looking good @nigelday ! for both projects.
No doubt there is still a lot to do ...

Whillan Beck also looks good up at Dalegarth.

Positioning on turntables is a black art, even at 15" - I remember a long ago visit from Black Prince that involved clamps to nip up an inch or two ...

Still planning a proper visit for this year (not today - how's your snow ?).
