I ought to go looking for some pictures of her - many of mine seem to be SNG or Bittern. As it stands, the 7th looks a good photo-op day or else, just a chance to stand and savour the sights, sounds and smells if dark.

 

I need to go through the photos I have at my Parents, have so many of No9 on the SVR, when No 9 was based in Shropshire between about 1995 and 1997. Whenever my Dad had to entertain customers or take international colleagues from his company's office in Wolves to Bridgnorth to the factory there, he'd take them to a 'proper British pub for a proper pint' (the Railwaymens Arms) then if 'Nine' was on shed he'd casually point it out and the connection to Mallard (126mph and all that) John Cameron, Matt and Tim Batham may not know this but they all did wonders for Anglo Swiss relations during that time!

 

Good to see a somewhat more rapid rectification has been possible than first prognosticated according to the reports.

USA is scheduled to work services on the ELR this weekend so it looks as if Riley's have completed the work ahead of schedule.

Good to hear. It moves from the ELR on Tuesday and goes to Peterborough arriving on Wednesday to work the Norwich- York Cathedrals.

 

What are N0.9's appearances in Scotland for next year? Does anyone know yet?

 

She's pencilled in for the Great Britain XI on Monday 23rd April - Inverness to Perth then over Beattock to Grange over Sands

 

The Cumbrian Coast route is an interesting proposal given the perenial gauging issues that seem to affect steam tours that way.

 

Don't they normally use the WCML to Oxenholme then bus the passengers to Grange...the ECS going forward to Carnforth?
