    Hi Guys

I wonder if anyone can help me I am looking for the old casting pattern from the Hunslet loco works in Leeds, I understand they where given to the guys at the Middleton Railway but they didn't have the room for them and they where moved on to somewhere else.

Does anyone know where they are today? as I am working on a project that might just need some of them after all this time.

    Regards

    Colin

I would have thought that first port of call for anything Hunslet would be Statfold Barn. Worth asking there methinks.

Armley mills industrial museum Leeds might be worth a try. There was quite a bit of hunslet related material there in the late 90's.
If you could be more specific in your requirements it should be possible to point your in the right direction?

Hunslet threw out all their steam related patterns back in the early nineties. We at Middleton heard about this and tried to rescue what we could but it was too late and what we got only came to a large van load, which we still have. What we do have is not a great deal of use as it was a question of picking what was left off the floor. There are core boxes with no associated pattern and patterns with no core boxes. Some are from Avonside and some from Hudswell Clarke. There is no catalogue and little is numbered. It would be a question of coming and looking to ascertain whether there is anything that you want. My gut feeling is that it would be a wasted journey. Let me know what you are looking for and I'll see if there is anything that would remotely fit the bill.

AFAIK, there is nothing at Statfold or Armley Mills.

Cheers Steve what I need to do is wait until I get the GA Drawings of 'Beddgelert' to see what comes up, But I would guess that with modern day technology it would be a simple case of fabrication some parts rather than getting them cast.

I should say that this is just an information gathering project at present, to just find what is out there and what isn't, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up of yet another new build 2ft gauge steam loco project until I know what is possible and just how much it is going to cost to do.
