As a fellow dyslexic I understand about the use of language and typing too fast.
I surealy found myself writing speeches for a senior government minister - everything took a long time! Must have done something right as have now been a Senior Civil Servant for more than ten years and yes writing and typing is still very hard work.
    Back to the PQR
Meriongwill is unduly pessimistic. There is undeveloped trackbed from the the Penrhyn Quarry to Porth Penrhyn. About 800 metres at Felin Fawr is now temporarily out of use, that leaves maybe seven kilometres of potential track. Some of which is is already owned by ‘friendly’ parties.
So to the Casandra’s who post on this forum, the PQR will return

A very happy New Year to you all

    Good news about the trackbed.

Was at Port Penrhyn in October and noticed that the old loco shed didn't appear to be in use....

Hmm, it may well return but in view of the bad vibes being given off from various sources, which may or may not have any basis in fact but are not doing the current management any favours, it may require a different team.

If it was any sort of criticism it wouldn't have had the smiles. 'Tis Christmas - the season to be merry and jolly (or even jolly merry ;)) :)

No offence intended, just a (pretty poor it seems) attempt at some light hearted humour.

Know what you mean, my spellings atrocious (couldn't have said that without spell check!) added to which this space bar is random with either one, two or no spaces as it sees fit. :(

Is there any link between the current group who are looking for a new track bed section and the original PR society that were dumped by the Felin Fawr owner?
If not, wouldn't it make sense to join up with them? Uniting two separate societies has worked wonders for the Cambrian lines.

Probably not at present, that might conceivably get brought up at the supporters meeting, depends I suppose on who the supporters are and if the society still exists other than on a dead website? I think a wider membership would attract more volunteers, funding etc than the current closed shop.

A bit of history about the supporters of the Penrhyn Quarry Railway (PQR) Please forgive me if I repeat what has been written earlier in this posting.
When work started on the restoration the orignal supporters group the Penrhyn Quarry Railways Society (PQRS) worked with Jonathan Ball and his team, indeed at one time Jonathan was the chair of the PQRS. Incidents in 2012 led to the group rebuilding the railway to form their own supporters group to work alongside the restoration team.
As things stand at the end of 2017 both groups are still in existence and the PQRS have made of very kind offer of free membership for the year to members of the supporters group. As those of you who are members of the PQRS will know ‘The Slate’ is one of the best preservation magazine’s currently published.
The way forward is for all interested parties to meet early in the new year and work out a) the way forward and b) how it is going to be achieved. I would be more than happy to chair such a meeting.

To all supporters of the PQR
