    The Mersey Docks & Harbour Board loco no.26 is Avonside 1810 built 1918 & is now preserved at the Ribble Steam Railway.
    The location is Princes Dock , Liverpool, adjacent to the dock road. Boat trains from Liverpool Riverside station crossed a bridge to the left of the building in the distance , then went down the right hand side of it before crossing the dock road & going up Waterloo tunnel towards Edge Hill & the London line.
    The signal posts which protected the main line trains from dock railway traffic are still in situ.

    Hudswell Clarke S100 - NCB Peckfield, Micklefield, Yorks. This loco has been modified with the Gas Producer Combustion System (note the distinctive chimney shape).

    2 Lambton Tanks and one tender loco on the ex-LH&JC system.
    No.42 (closest to the camera) built 1920 by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns, works No 3801.
    The second loco I believe to be either No.29, 30 or 31 (all built by Kitson and Company of Leeds) - note different cab shape.
    No 29 was built in 1904, works No.4263.
    No.30 and 31 were built 1907.
    The tender loco may be No. 20 (Robert Stephenson 2260 of 1876).

    The loco on the left is Manchester Ship Canal. No.90 - Hudswell Clarke works No.1867 (1954).
    The loco on the right is a Hudswell Clarke 'long tank'.

    It's interesting how No.90 in this photo and No.52 in the photo above are almost the exact same loco but for the bufferbeams and water tank configuration. No.52 is almost certainly a Hudswell Clarke.
