No, that stretch of land has belonged to that farm for quite a while. I think the L&B has only said it's negotiating for the remaining land needed. Clearly this less than a mile stretch is going to be problematic. Having said that, the current owners expressed a keenness to move away from Parracombe some years ago, so are not wedded to the area. After all, aurum potesta est...?

Again from Foot Anstey come these vague allegations of "bullying", "mysogeny", etc. Much in the manner of tabloid journalism, these come from sources unknown, and are so far unsubstantiated. As such, they comprise a slur on the Railway's conduct.
It is about time these slurs were either fleshed out in detail by the objectors to enable the Railway to counter these claims, or withdrawn from the public forum altogether.
Are there any of the legal profession present who would care to comment on libel laws?

I'm not a lawyer, but pursuing them in any sort of Libel would likely prove counterproductive for everyone involved.

No, I'm sure. But not what I was asking.-Should anyone be free to spout what they want on a public forum with impunity?
When they represent a legal body?

If you mean the letter from Foot Anstey I’d say they’re representing their client and, as solicitors, probably have a better idea than you or I how far they could go without risking libel. Their letter simply reports “there have been allegations of bullying, misogyny” etc. without giving any details or commenting on the truthfulness or otherwise of these allegations. Pretty weak stuff barely worth mentioning, in my opinion. Their arguments about ENPA’s Local Plan and Grampian conditions are possibly of greater concern.

Nor I, though I must respectfully disagree. For those learned types who practice it, costly litigation isn't in the least counterproductive.

I'm very lucky- as a newlywed, I was banned from the ironing board, due to being too slow and cackhanded! I can do it, just not well enough to suit the boss.

Now who was it that said the railway enthusiasts linked to the L&B were misogynistic - just saying . . . .

I've had confirmation from ENPA that the railway's application will NOT be considered in their February meeting with no indication of when it will be... :(

Doesn't really seem as if the ENPA are very keen, probably still be waiting next year at this rate!

The RVR currently hold the record at (something like) 2 years and 8 months for Rother District council's decision. ENPA will be running them close, soon.

The problem will be that the other planning permissions which have been approved will run out before ENPA make their decision!

LOL! Not if they start work on them, though. The work that the railway has already carried out in the cutting south of Blackmoor may qualify as the beginning of reinstatement of the line.

I suspect ENPA are absolutely terrified of a significant legal challenge to their decision - note that in their latest submission Foot Anstey have mentioned the magic words 'judicial review' - and want to take all the time necessary to ensure their decision is legally watertight.

Rome wasn't built in a day etc.!

Anyone know much about Grampian conditions?
