And we wouldn't be so concerned about Green Arrow's cylinder block.

I would love to see either a Garrett or this beast (this being a Reid-MacLeod Steam Turbine)... [IMG]

Looking at the pictures in the Douglas Self site, is this actually the earlier Reid-Ramsay loco?

The distinguishing feature seems to be the relationship between the bogie and the chimney, so that in this loco the outside-framed portion of the bogie is at the end, under the chimney. In the Reid-Macleod, it appears that the rear bogie was turned round such that the inside-framed portion was at the end and the outside framed portion was inboard. (I think that sort of makes this loco a 4-4-o+4-4-0T - the front is at the far end of the is photo) and the Reid-MacLeod would be a 4-4-0+0-4-4T)

cf http://www.douglas-self.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/reidrams/reidrams.htm (which I think is this loco) and http://www.douglas-self.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/reidmac/reidmac.htm

An unsexy 2p 4-4-0 of late c19 early c20 design, or 0-6-0 goods engine of similar vintage. Not fussy about company. Very common design but very under-represented in preservation.

I always prfered Memphis Belle:eek::confused:. Funny mentioning those two B17s, When I suggested them on the Hornb forun as a pair of suitable names. Some joker replied that Boeing B17 s were refered to as "Sanderinghams"o_O. Which I for one never knew:Chillout:

Why not a 2-4-2T or 0-4-4T... We have a few, and a project for each underway, but you just can't have enough!

I believe the B17's deteriorated rapidly between overhauls. but I still like them. Some say the Footballers were better with stronger frames compared to the early batch, most of which I believe had to had new frames very quickly.
