Excellent photos and footage taken in challenging conditions. Thanks to all who braved the elements.

A good day with sensible use of diesel but leaving the main event as pure steam. What is not to love?

With tomorrow’s train being not far away I wonder how long before the 1st sarcastic comment will arrive due to the bad forecast? My guess is not long!

10 on behind Les Ross. Can't ever remember such a poorly loaded CME. Rear coach STD H not even half full.

For those interested in speeds/times; Yealand topped at 30; Through Milnethorpe at 61; Oxenholme 49; Grayrigg Summit 36 in just under 30 mins. Low Gill 57; Tebay 70; Scout Green 39; 37 1/4 23.5, 44m 8.44s. Brisk run down bank, Penrith 77, Carlisle 3 early. Carnforth U&DGL to Carlisle 73m 45s. Cracking run. Believe Ron Smith on regulator.

Noticed this one again didn’t carry a headboard. Is there any reason for this? Surely there is one at Carnforth and it’s the best kind of free advertising. Watch any video of any steam tour through a station and the people not expecting to see one are amazed. If you see it’s called the Cumbrian Mountain Express or the Fellsman you can go home and google it and buy a ticket yourself. Seems like a missed opportunity

Sounds like a good solid performance given loco and load.
