I don’t think our views on this are that far apart. Certainly the communications have greatly improved.

 

I am particularly grateful to Steve for the items he relays from Faceache and elsewhere. I will not use it because of security breaches.

 

The answer, as ever to conspiracy theorists, is that the gap in meetings was caused not by Mel’s unavailability but a series of events.
Readers of this thread will be aware that there has been substantial change in the composition of the Board of the WSR Plc during the last year. As Chair of the PDG I wanted to ensure that the Plc Chair attended and tentative dates kept having to be moved.
Of the two district council representatives one was not available when we set the date, and the other was prevented at the last moment.
If in future you have doubts about something, why not just ask?

Just for the record I am not, and never have been, a conspiracy theorist. In fact a couple of pwople had asked me the quastion and I referred them to the WSR PLC. I am well aware and have previously stated publicly that communication from the WSR PLC, and indeed the WSRA, have improved a great deal.

 

I believe it's a rusty rail day today.

 

Nice to see that our friends in P. Way completed the Alcombe relaying without disturbing the rabbits sleeping by the trackside.

 

You don't want to disturb the rabbits, last time they did that in Somerset the rabbits threw a bomb back! :O

 

This post follows those that discussed communications or lack of them. I hope that track photo is not a portrayal of things at present in West Somerset. i.e. a bit wobbly.

The review of the broken springs last season

I suspect some of the reports are available somewhere on the internet but not where I venture.

Well, in the WSR Journal. And i have just finished the latest version and that will go to the printers this week.

But you make a good point. There are lots of communications, but a little uncoordinated. We are just beginning to look at this and I have a couple of willing volunteers ready to review where we are and see if things can be improved.

I will also remind you of the 24th Feb. This is the stakeholders meeting, which I am thinking of rebranding as Railway Supporters Afternoon. We are planning for attendees to be able to input in some way to the new corporate plan. Bishops Lydeard village hall, 2pm. There may also be a railway visit in the morning, still be considered. Please come along.

As mentioned above, the WSR Journal is a good place for this information. As it is now online, even non-members can read it.

If folks are not prepared to go to Facebook then they are missing a lot of information about stations, locos, dmus, coaching stock, wagons, PW. Not sure why folks will not go there. And then there's lots of WSR stuff on Twitter too. What exactly is the problem with visiting Facebook and/or Twitter?

The Quantock Intruder through train was mentioned in a news item just last month. The other two through trains on the TT page, I will check out. Thanks for the pointer.

Indeed, you don't even need to be a member to view it, so no need to worry about Facebook having your information.

 

Facebook plant VERY invasive information gathering cookies whether you are a member or not. I know other websites use similar practices but Facebook do so in spades.
