60103 "Flying Scotsman" Static Displays & Passenger Services at ELR 2018

East Lancs Railway have announced, on Facebook, that 60103 "Flying Scotsman" will participate in a series of static displays and passenger services throughout 2018. So far, according to the 60103 official website, these dates are:

Static Display

• 10th/11th/30th March
• 1st/2nd April
• 9th September

Passenger Services

• 12th/13th May
• 24th/25th/26th/27th August
• 5th/6th/7th/8th September

 

I'd booked to ride behind Tornado on the 30th, so this is a lovely bonus.

It's tempting to get all fanciful, but if 60009 is still around after the March Steam Gala, imagine it working the other steam diagram of the day, and having an A1, A3 and A4 all in the same station on the same day.

(they probably wouldn't, though. My money's on the Crab to make the most of the Paddington connection)

 

I'm travelling on Tornado on the 30th also so this is a great bonus

 

Will have to try and get over to the ELR. Haven't seen Scotsman since it returned to service. Thanks for putting up the dates.

 

Yeah, it's the Crab. Which I like, but have seen a load of times. So much for my idle daydream about a trio of LNER pacifics.
