Keighley & Worth Valley Railway - Spring Gala 2018 - 9th to 11th March 2018

Haven't seen a thread for this yet so thought i'd add one

3 Visitors including:

|BR Standard 7MT 'Britannia' Class 70013 'Oliver Cromwell'
|LMS 5MT 'Black Five' Class 44871
|S&DJR 7F Class 53808

Home fleet featuring Hudswell Clarke No.1704 'Nunlow', TVR O2 85, LNWR Coal Tank 1054, MR 4F 43924, BR Standard 4MT 75078 and USATC S160 Class 5820. Also the Grafton Steam Crane will be operating at Oakworth.

Was really looking forward to this even before 70013 was added to the line up, now I cannot wait!

It's been a great first day at the KWVR gala. The railway is really delivering an excellent event. Conditions have been reasonable all day but this morning was something special. The snow from Thursday was still lingering at the top end of the line, but it had gone by early afternoon.

Really good day on Friday at the gala shame about the 7F on the early morning freight but these things happen but always when it is good light sadly. A couple of shots from my visit many thanks to all those at the KWVR for a most enjoyable day and friendly welcome as per usual.

A few shots from me from Friday. A fantastic morning turned into a disappointing afternoon for various reasons (through no fault of the KWVR, one might add!), so here are a few shots from the times when things were actually going ok... and those times happened to coincide with 70013's volcanic runs up the branch!

Thanks to everyone at the KWVR who ran the event, and to everyone involved in Tuesday's photo charter with 70013 - I gather it was extremely difficult to put together and make work but I had a great day.

A couple more from the weekend. All in a very memorable KWVR gala. Congratulations to Kieran Pilsworth the gala organiser and all the other volunteers for putting o na really succesful event. It would be great if other railways could take note of an intensive timetable including goods trains keeps everyone happy on and off the trains. Not the best weather yesterday but this morning especially made up for that today.
