If you can find a supplier of the correct spare parts it´s fine. Otherwise I had the same problem and it took me a while to find a supplier.

We needed both circular sight glasses for a lubricator (Michigan, "The real McCoy", as the Americans say) as well as protection glasses for water gauges.
I contacted a number of companies supplying tempered glass products, but what I wanted was too small for them to handle in there glass ovens. Tempered glass has to be hardened after cut to size.
Finally someone gave me a hint in the right direction, contact a glass company supplying products made to size for interior decoration, like shelves etc.
And that was the trick, I paid less than 10 GBP a piece, a bargain to me. Further they supplied all of it made exactly to the right dimensions and they have worked perfectly so far.

Thus, one way is to ask an interior decorator were a suitable supplier can be found. (The one I used is in Sweden.)
