Not a ‘tarp’. They are found on ships, canal barges and lorries.

    Wagons have sheets, please.

The Ffestiniog also has such an event the 'Trailffest', this year held on 22nd Sept. A half-marathon trail running alongside the line from Tanygrisiau to Porthmadog. A 'family and friends’ train runs down alongside to cheer on the competitors. This has a finish point lower than the start, but includes some heavy climbs in between. This is a popular event for runners in North Wales - sadly now beyond me.

Torpex was also used for inland use... How else would you breach dams with a revolving 'depth charge'? ;):)

    Request from WSR Wagon Group

    Wagon labels

No self-respecting wagon would be properly dressed without its label, and we would like to get this right for future goods trains on the WSR. Would (1) anyone able to provide good quality scans or photos of suitable labels available to them and (2) anyone able to produce good quality colour prints please be in touch.

I would aim to produce a small ‘library’ of labels for the wagon group for the future.

I would like copies of both blank and completed labels so we can mark up the copies authentically.

Please share this post to anyone who can help.

    Thank you.

very true, officially the " bouncing bomb" was a mine , so as it needed to detonate at a certain depth judged by water pressure i dare say some naval technology must have been employed

That's for reporting that. Are they re-decking the level crossing?

It's now displayed on the big TV with a home made cottage pie TV lunch to follow shortly. ;-)

To answer my own question a B&R Track Services tamper conveniently passed over the crossing just as we were starting lunch so presumably the decking has been removed to allow tamping?

Steve Edge reported on his (marvellous) website a couple of days ago that this work by WSR Infrastructure Engineering is to carry out a small realignment. Seaward Way is expected to be closed to traffic until Friday afternoon.
