Indeed, those that toiled and Built what the beans bought first, then those that gave the beans second, those that say 'how many more beans and seventy hundred new bean growers this will add to the local economy' third, and the rest after that.

I'm not sure if the current lack of signalling at Broadway would allow for that, but I'm no expert.

And I'm not sure filling a path with a freight train on what could possibly be the busiest few days we've ever had would be s good idea; the Toddington Broadway section (the longest) is already at full capacity on this timetable with an hourly passenger departure from Broadway.

Well, one thing is for sure, the G&WSR operating department have more than enough advice now. However, I would put money on it that they already made their plans and a plan B! :D

As long as you do it safely, you can do what you want for the odd occasion. A Pilotman can help in such circumstances where there is a lack of signalling, etc.

I haven't yet seen why a third loco would be needed. One to pull the first public arrival. One coming along behind tender first (as soon as the single line section is clear) to pull the first public departure. The first one wouldn't even need to shunt anywhere: just uncouple and wait to be released when the train departs.

Because the first public operating day is a three steam train timetable.

It must have left Toddington around 11:00ish as it arrived at Broadway about 12:10, looks magnificent. Hopefully all the coping stones are still intact!

It was a great day, witnessed by but a few.
It was 7903 Foremarke Hall on a gauging run with the new consist of 8 coaches.
    All is well, we continue.

Here is a picture of the moment, with the loco crew that brought the train in:
    IMG_20180309_123011875_BURST000_COVER_TOP compressed.jpg

There will be a video of the train coming in, and another of it steaming away again, in a few hours, as soon as it has finished uploading (rural broadband....)

Wow what a great day! After all these years it’s looking very real now and that dream all those years ago is soon to be a reality as another part of jigsaw puzzle is added.

Corr, what a sight, the picture you put up before almost looked photoshopped, it took the video to believe what I was seeing, is a Cornishman head code going to be used for any of the initial public forays to broadway?

I believe some special headboards have been commissioned, what they look like I know not.

One version of the headboard that was used is here. Another was polished metal letters on a plain black background. I have seen Cornishman headcode letters on GWSR locos previously.

It looks like the GWSR is expecting the following weeks to be quite busy as well - the railway is running a two steam train service for a fortnight after.
