    The 8F sounds sensible, although it would make an easy tour for 35018?

    Edit: they are 60mph paths, suggesting the 8F

    Looking at RTT, is there a reason for not just using the steam loco for the whole day, or just leaving on steam to Carnforth on the return.

    So it’s not the 8f?

    Just had a look on both UK Steam and Real Time Trains. UK Steam states the tour is coming through Chester, but Real Time trains says it's going to Shrewsbury via Whitchurch (the same as the 28th February trip).

    Anyone able to confirm which route it is taking as I have a follower on Twitter, who is constantly asking questions about mainline steam coming to Chester.

    I would trust RTT, UKsteam also seems to disagree with RTT on the associated light loco moves
