Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Diesel weekend 17/18 March 2018

The EVR's diesel weekend on March 17th and 18th 2018 will feature the first visit of a Class 42 "Warship" D832 "Onslaught" from the East Lancashire Railway! The event will also feature 33103 "Swordfish" after a repaint back into BR Blue which is currently ongoing in the EVR sheds and will be completed for the event, it should emerge gleaming in the next few weeks! 31206 will also feature after recently having had some winter maintenance completed. Should be a cracking weekend with an intensive timetable.

 

An extra special guest has been confirmed for the EVR Diesel Weekend this March, 08704 will visit the railway alongside Warship D832 "Onslaught" and the home fleet of 31206 and 33103. Not to be missed! https://www.e-v-r.com/dieselweekend/

 

Work continues in the EVR sheds at Wirksworth with the repaint of 33103 "Swordfish" , many hours have been spent filling and sanding the bodyside and over half of it is now in undercoat, the final preparation of the west side has been completed and patch primed, the north cab is the last area to recieve body filler.

For our early visitors to this event, the Station Cafe at Wirksworth will be open from 8.30am both Saturday and Sunday of the event (menu below) , Duffield Booking office will be open for the first northbound train serving light refreshments(hot drinks, crisps, conefectionary etc..)
