45212 Cath Ex to Bath: 27/03/18

Can't see a thread for this. 45212 rostered for a run from Southend to Bath via GWML.

Worth noting that 45212 comes on/off the train at Hanwell and Willesden respectively.

RTT now shows only a few minutes stop at Hanwell Loop -and then the train running approx. 20min early after that - does this mean 45212 not involved any longer?

UPDATE: the train is then held at Slough to put it back on original timings.

It may be interesting to see if the LE movement from Southall WCR to Hanwell takes place.

 

As OTT (maps) showed the loco swap - I guess RTT got things confused

 

No diesel when passing Slough railcam.

 

Saw it at Swindon on return. Loco and stock (without diesel) looked superb. 9L ex Bath (funny enough the ECS was a RT time arrival). Train went into plat 1 at Swi. Then 1730 BTM Padd rolled into 3. As soon as HST was gone the TVSC Bobby had the 5 straight out. Positively barked out - good to see Ray Poole on the engine. Meagre iPhone shot attached.

Newton St. Loe in the morning and accelerating nicely at Bathampton in the evening. Best sound track I've got from Bathampton in quite a while.

I filmed from high above Newton St. Loe in the afternoon and then track-side in the evening, but my camera couldn't cope with the strng wind which more-or-less obliterated any other sounds -- even when I was only a few yards away from the train. However, if you just like watching .....
