    Some lovely shots and films there, BIL really did seem to be just sauntering along the S&C, couple of small observations;

    I assume that the headboard on BIL was swapped from top to bottom at Appleby due to the need for its removal under the wires at Carlisle, shows the level of detail planning which has to go into these tours....

    Leander seems to have been changed from early to late BR crests since her last outing, no idea why just caught my eye.

    I believe it is a Black Five tender on loan. Most likely from 44932?

    If it is the tender most recently used with 44932, I believe that was actually 45699s which was in better shape than 44932s at the time of the latter's overhaul ahead of 45699 being finished!
    To summarise, 45699 has 44932's tender and now 45690 has 45699's?
    Cue total livery froth meltdown if no Jubs ran in later BR black ......

    Quite possible! But I guess to avoid too much confusion on the tender trail... the suggestion is Leander's running with the tender 44932 was using during it's last period of use.

    so is it now looking like Black 5 thunderbird again picks up the pieces ?

    uk steam just shows Black 5 to op all GB days from Crewe CDF to BRS YPM WEY (+ U boat) then Swanage and then to London - Plucky little engine

    i wouldn't have thought MN BIL has been gauged yet by NR for any of the SW mainline and London lines ?

    why was Braunton/Lord D heading north in the week?

    thanks for any replies cheers - would be nice to have seen a Bullied or 2 on proper SR home turfs

    Well BIL is a MN and there is a MN that has been gauged for most places as far as Bristol. Clan Line now measures 13 feet to the dome. Don't know about BIL although the loco must have been measured accurately prior to the first test run. NR does have accurate data for it.

    I think that the main reason may well be that West Coast doesn't want her straying too far away yet...and then there is the Dalesman.

    I was under the impression though that any steam loco for the mainline has to be individually and regularly gauged on its planned moves and routes by NR irrespective if there is another member of same class running already - I am however not 100% of that.....
    just recall that Tornado needed regauging again even on routes she had ran on before and approval was not granted if 6 months had gone by without a refresh or a run in that time without a lapse.

    I dont see any trips planned for BIL atm so hence my Q that she was maybe being made available for GB etc,

    Dalesman is unallocated as yet 1 May and 34046 is busy 12 May

    A great two day's at the lineside, day two was the best with immaculate locos on display and all performing well. Thanks to WCR, RTC and the paying passengers for providing such an event. Enjoy :)
