I would just like to ask if anyone has a video of Culloden(not the battle) I would love to see it .The noise as Galatea and the B1 left the viaduct was amazing.

Imagine it's going straight through. The talk was the tanker had been summoned to Llandeilo to do watering there.

202L off Llandeilo, turning to a rather epic day out for the passengers and crew.

Have we had any passengers complaining about the 37 assisting to try and recoup some of the 2+ hours lateness?

The passengers are probably still staggering into their hotel rooms or still on the transfer coaches - it only arrived in Cardiff about 20 minutes ago!

I hope that none of them have had to resort to eating each other, as I guess there was no provision of an evening meal on board this evening!

Saw the tour at Llandrindod. Despite the lateness, half the town seemed to have turned out - clearly steam is still a big draw in Mid-Wales. The very noisy departure delighted many of the children present, with the 37 just ticking over at rear. I hope it isn't another 3 years before we see steam this way again.

So another day on the road with the RTC and WC comes to an end. You do have to ask yourself why they bother. The promised loco is out of gauge. An alternative route is shut so we go through central Wales with another loco that, by chance, happens to be available. And then NR screws things up.

First we find their signalling is not up to scratch and so we sit on the WCML after BIL puts in a brilliant performance despite having to take a minder with it.

Then in Wales WC juggles water stops to save time but that doesn't stop NR giving priority to a service train already 20 late with just FOUR people on it. We know the rules but...honestly.

So with no opportunity to eat we finally get to Cardiff nearly 3 hours late despite Ray Poole's best efforts.

A day that was down to NR in several ways. Despite that we had a guest appearance from Merchant 18 and the Class 37 did as little as possible. But it was not a day that went to plan other than the fact we did cover the planned route.

Days 8 and 9 will also be damage limitation due to unavailability of the A4. But that is the risk you take on the GB. At least WC has tried to limit diesel involvement tomorrow although not on Friday.
