Out of winter so due a new thread. Anyone heard what's running on Saturday? The letter was non-committal, 45690, 45699, or 35018.
Is 35018 favourite as it ran yesterday?

Terrific as the Jubilees performed during the winter, the passengers would surely be thrilled to find MN18 taking their train out of Carnforth on Saturday.

Will they save 35018 for the Dalesman's? The CME's being RTC, I don't think there is any issue with watering at Appleby, as the bill for takin water there goes to the promoter not the operator (according to Steam Railway at least).

35018 booked for today's CME but train held at Rugby due to cows on the line according to my mate on board. Possible divert via Coventry.

Edit : Not going via Coventry now.

A Merchant Navy over Shap? Not since 1964, I think. It looks as though West Coast is amending the record books again. Well done them.

My mate and his Canadian buddy are rather pleased with that bit of news.

Hasn't 35005 done it since 35012? Or was that just over the S&C? Anyway, currently waiting in the Greyfriar in Preston.

Thought so. Thanks! A rarity up until now, nonetheless.

Let's hope they can get out of Carnforth at 1200. A good chance of a clear run, or at least to Penrith if they can. But I suppose running out of course Les Ross may run into traffic between Crewe and Carnforth, we shall see.

Quite right. Had forgotten that one. Twenty years is still rather a gap though.

35018 an ACE engine in every way. I had most of my runs with it on the down ACE in 1962

In the loop at Carnforth, waiting, I assume for the passage of 2 x Pendo's and a TPE which has just left Preston.

Well, superb run. Around 39.4 minimum on Shap with 11 bogies. Going down hill like the proverbial. Safety valves lifting just before summit, too.

With arrival at Carlisle nearly one hour late, is there an amended departure time?
