Quite so, I wonder if thoughts might turn towards supplementing MN18 with a classmate or 2 in due course?

I don't know how many miles the crew had on the footplate before this run, can't be many, but they put in a top performance. Given the right circumstances I'm fairly confident that Mick Kelly will be out to better this. Only 2 quarters below 50 mph; a typical run doesn't have many more above 50. Thanks for your endeavours.

I never show any speeds above 79 in post steam era logs except where authorised which currently means only Tornado

Part 3, Wilpshire. Not sure what happened above Wilpshire Tunnel. There were no audible slips but speed fell off quite a bit. Eased early for some reason?

So, 16' 53'' for the Blue Riband section. Not eligible, one coach too few, but would rank fourth in that league table.

I remember there where times when a tour, not scheduled to stop at Appleby, would slow down to just moving before setting off again, thus to be able to qualify as a start from there.

Not sure Henry, but from where I was stood above Birkett Common it looked like Lewis Hamilton driving and Sylvester Stallone wielding a big shovel.........................I could be wrong! ;)

Must admit it did look like Lewis driving but it was gone in a flash . Shame no sun for you as Henry would’ve been out about and about :)
