I have never seen such a load of rubbish on this thread that has absolutely nothing to do with the WSR or any other heritage railway, if this is the mentality of the posters it is seriously worrying.

I thought I'd heard about double fillings. Eat the meat part first and then the apple for afters, using the crust to hold it and keep the main part of the pasty clean. Since you'd normally eat away from you, that would mean if you were left handed you'd want the meat at the other end.

Thank goodness the "mentality of most of the WSR" is not revealed through this forum - after all, the majority of the posters on this thread seem not to be WSR people

So, what do you think is the correct way to handle things to get back to a society which is more 'civilized' - say that of 50 years ago? (This is not a wind-up, I'm genuinely curious as to how you would proceed.) As we've seen with incidents at the NYMR, etc vandalism is a serious problem for heritage railways, along with everyone else.

Fair question, simply answer is "I dunno!" All I do know is that knee-jerk reactions shouldn't be a basis for punishments, beyond that, it's beyond me too.

Apparently because of lack of available steam, yet 7828 left BL before 1000 on a SEC turn. Not sure the priorities are right here, nor is it good PR.

 

Its a bit tricky to do an Steam Experience turn on a diesel, and actually a sizeable chunk of the ordinary paying passengers are no longer as concerned about a box on their train as long as they see a steam engine at some point. Seems like the right priority to me.

I wonder. On my last visit at the December gala, all the steam hauled trains I travelled on/saw had a good 200/250 people on. The DMU (which was doing one of the diagrams due to a steam failure) never had more than 30 people on....
