But whether steam or diesel it still pulls the train. A 33 is better than nothing at all

Yeah but the fact is you're moaning about having only 2 spares fact is if one steam and the dmu failed we'd have the 33 to pull two service trains. cos the Ivatt is prebooked for foot ex.

No two class 33s are better than nothing at all 33053 is on her way to the MHR now she is back up and running again.

Can't wait to see a Blue 33 at the MHR on a service train.

I think you would find that the Ivatt would go onto service trains. You have to remember that "Wadebridge" will be back before you know it. I've been told she has performed very well on the line! =D>

I doubt it considering the vast income foot ex brings in. when they can use a 33

It only seems like yesterday that we had three Bulleids running on the MHR. I remember one weekend we had three Bulleids out and the standard five out and it wasn’t even on a gala weekend how great was that.

I wouldn't say the Bluebell is in "crisis", just short of locomotives to run the service should on of them fail. If push comes to shove, the C will manage 4 corridor carriages, maybe 5 with some help, and for a 6 coach train, the C and the 01 will do happily. The C will also pull the GA with no issues.

So 80151, 1638 and 5199 to manage the bigger trains (6 coach corridor sets)
C as a back up for the vintage or the GA.
01 for the Vintage, or possibly a bigger train when paired with the C if worst comes to worst.

I think we shall be ok. The strain will show a little more when spoil trains restart in August, but I should hope the diesel takes up most of that work.

Hi please can someone answer a few questions for me about West Countries town and city shields

Why do some West Countries Have no shields above or below the loco name plate .
Why do some West Countries have a Shield with white and blue lines and with a black background and yellow dots on the shield like Wadebridge and Bodmin have? I don’t think these are town shields because both locos have the same shield.
What dose the blue and white lines mean and what dose the black background and yellow dots mean on the shield.

    Thanks

The shield on Wadebridge and Bodmin, and other locos named after towns in Cornwall, is the badge of Cornwall.

She's almost there. Follow the link and see the latest picture of Sir Archibald Sinclair looking very much complete
