Surprised there is no thread for today's trip, but personally forgot about it until I passed Tilehurst Station & saw the crowds.
I pulled in & stopped & checked RTT. It seemed to have lost half hour at Didcot & what I did notice that there was an electric local unit stuck in the up relief platform for ages & everything including freight was using the up main.
Not sure if this was the reason for the delay or not.
There was quite a procession of trains passing on the up main one after the other.
The "stuck" unit eventually left & FS came on the up relief still around 30 mins late. '746 was tagged on the back, it sounded as if it wasn't running.

Today's run through the Chiltern Hills, seen here at Saunderton - didn't sound like the 47 on the back was helping!

After Saunderton, I headed over to catch it at Appleford Level Crossing, just north of Didcot, because there would't be any overhead structures there - turns out I was wrong!

I see a change in tonight's schedule, watering at Gomshall rather than Shalford

Scotsman went straight through Woking this evening as it was delayed by other services. Class 70 + 66 double header going in the other direction passed Scotsman. Two Class 73's and a Class 37 in the yard. A nice bit of variety this evening at Woking!

I have it on good authority that it was the diesel banking the train out that set it off but don't let the facts stand in the way of a good story. It was a smoke alarm and would have been activated by the diesel fumes ather than heat

Forgot there was a TSR for 60103 at Worplesdon, but as it turns out the soundtrack made up for it.

Some shots from the two tours on 5th June. Saunderton and Woking (the Woking shot was high ISO due to the fading light)
