Possibly the most intensive service even if you include galas?

Agree about 8059. It has been before, but was black back then.

Sorry if we disturbed you on Friday. Pleased to say though it all went well though - apart from disturbing residents of Alresford.

You mean 20188, easy mistake to make with them both having the same owners

Does anyone know what's running tomorrow? I heard the Standard 4 failed today and there's no roster up on the website unfortunately. Thanks

Now that the Loco Dept Wednesday gang has (sadly) stopped putting regular blog updates on the MHR website is there any other place apart from the quarterly MHN where we can get regular updates on progress and activity in and around the sheds and shops? It is a pity that all the blogs seem to have tailed off with the exception of the wagon group because I found them a source of interest and entertainment (and in return I answered appeals for funds).

    Another point on the forum.
Why are the captions not visible on the gallery other than in the thumbnails?

The MHR blogs are pretty active. Seems peculiar to have the central well maintained blogs on their main website, but then a separate hard to find p-way blog on blogspot.

Probably needs some heads banging together to get it moved back to the main site (no doubt the result of some am-dram from people determined to be different for the sake of it).

Completely concur. The Wednesday gang blogs used to be weekly, now your lucky if you get one a month. The Can-Pac blogs have disappeared altogether apart from the carriage shop element of the project and sadly the Urie and 75079 blogs seem to have gone the same way. Thankfully although there seems to be not much news on the official site, regular updates on 80150 are put on the groups Facebook page.

It begs the question. Are the loco blogs being written and then vetted and blocked by the admin of the website for Commercial reasons, or is it just a case of no one taking the time to write them anymore. Whichever the answer it really is a shame as it gives the impression that nothing is happening nowadays at Ropley, which of course we know it is.

I would also agree with what Domeyhead says about regular news updates helping me to loosen my wallet. Lol. I have closely followed the regular updates of the restoration of 50033 since it arrived at the SVR and felt inspired earlier this week to send in a small donation to the group carrying out the work.

I have noticed I don't know if anyone would agree that since Colin Chambers has gone the updates have got less and less.

Talking of which, what's the latest with filling his vacancy? Surely an appointment should be forthcoming soon, to steer the MHR ship.

I'm lead to believe that a Urie blog is imminent, but has been delayed for good reason.

Also don't forget the Urie lads are having their annual open day at the end of the month - so if you really wan to know whats happening - turn up & help support them! ;)

As for the rest of the blogs - no idea - but at least you can keep up to date on a regular basis about all the troublesome trucks, we in the wagon group are working on. :)

I appreciate the regular updates from the wagon group, you all do a very fine job. I'd love to get to the ULS open day but won't know until nearer the time whether I can make the journey up from Exeter. I have however supported them in the past with donations on occasions, same with 35005 and 80150.

I think regular updates as to what's going on in restoration projects are helpful in maintaining an interest.

I presumed but was obviously mistaken that the chap (cant remember his name) from the Bluebell who quit his post soon after Colin Chambers was going to the Mid Hants, as it stands there are two preserved lines without rudders so to speak.

The latest issue of The Railway Magazine reports that Colin Chambers steps down from the MD position after 16 years on July 9th when General Manager Jason Holder takes over. Colin will however remain as Finance Director for the rest of the year.
