Shown on BBP'S website as a steam hauled Surrey Hills trip and appears on UK steam as loco tba.

As Clan Line is in the West Country, Tornado is still under repair and Union of South Africa is off to Worcester can anyone shed any light as to potential traction for this tour, please.

I was thinking exactly the same thing last weekend.
When she was owned by Tony Marchington she was a regular on the VSOE as it was known back then. Be good if she made an appearance on the Pullmans again. But of course they could just put a Class 67 on both ends.

Apparently BBP have notified their passengers that it is to be Diesel hauled.

Yes, the original DBC plan was for Tornado to be 'guest engine' on the BBP with Clan Line committed to the West Country. That went out the window when Tornado failed on the ECML, and DBC have found there isn't another suitable loco available. Yes, in theory Clan Line could have been brought back, worked the Pullman and then ran straight away back to Bristol in readiness for the Par trip Sunday morning, but even if another support crew could be press-ganged into taking this on, would 'the man who pays the bills' for the Cornishman be anything other than very unhappy with the risk this builds into that operation?

Just so. As long as the passengers know that it's the Paddington Bear engine that has let them down and not the Golden Arrow engine. (Would they know the difference, I ask myself?)
