Class 6 plus maroon box ?... Warning, warning imminent paint froth.
Why are the WCR chuggers the brown side of Maroon?( and look awful imo), when the coaches are practically crimson ( almost the same colour as the Faux MR Jubilee) which look ok

Whilst being generally indifferent to the heritage diesels operating mainline, I do think the LSL 47s look super smart in their two tone green. The FGW 57s used on the cornish sleeper look good green too.

Am not overly fussed about colour choice, authenticity etc as long as it looks right and looks good.
Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder I think I have reasonable taste? and a pleasing appearance is quite important in the charter market ne ?
BIL looks good, and looks right. the shade of green on USA for example is I believe quite authentic, but its not as nice.

LSL 47's look very nice but i guess livery is a choice between authenticity and publicity. WCR both promote AND operate many trains in their own name (as well as providing locos for 3rd parties) so possibility want their branding out there more, whereas LSL seem to use the 'Saphos' an 'Statesman' brand for their trains. Just a guess and not wishing to see a steam loco in WCR full branding!!!!

I'm quite sure that if you offered WCRC a really significant sum of money to repaint their engines then I'm sure they would listen until then the company can paint their fleet in whatever livery they choose . Every bleat on a forum or social media just increases the likelyhood of the livery being retained

A red box on the back of a steam hauled train looks fairly inconspicuous so long live WC maroon

Whats all this got to do with British India Line ? colour of West coast's diesels is their own prerogative ,at least the steam fleet appears to remain in if not authentic for class, authentic liveries for the steam age

Except 45699, we know red is wrong but that is not the shade of red paint used on anything in the steam age.

I doubt very much money would talk in this case and complaining about bleating on a forum is a bit like grumbling that it rains in the Lake District. It will happen regardless.

that's sort of my point, the 'WCRC red' rolling stock looks nice, the Maroon tractor only sometimes matches the support coach i.e '1967 Unwashed Maroon,' so theres a lack of consistency / inconspicuousness
But its only a minor Gripe - as for WCRC - My ma always used to say, handsome is as handsome does....

on the light engine/ test thread, 35018 it has been said has been earmarked for some special runs next month, if this is true, her SSE duties have been passed over to the 8F so, is she the un named Southern pacific to haul the RCT southern end of steam specials in July?

It may yet have to cover for Mayflower on two Steam Dreams runs in July, if 1306 is not finished in time.

Even if 1306 is ready, I can't see Steam dreams not at least asking if 35018 can operate at least one of their tours, if only to boost ticket sales,
