Any idea of what else to expect for diesel gala? I know 832's coming and I should imagine that 20227'll be around, just wondering if it's worth going or having a day on the Yarmouths?

Just read in a certain publication that there may be a possibilty of 70000 and 70013 at the Autumn gala.

Realise you shouldn't believe everything you read in these magazines though...

It is a mixed traction gala now with D832, 20227, DRS loco, DMU, 76084, 92203 plus some shunters.

You can do the Yarmouth's almost any day. This is likely to be your only chance to sample a 42 Warship on the NNR.

Ok, depending on what the DRS traction is I may show up but hate to sound fickle one last summer of 37's on the Yarmouths has to be done though.

Oh and thanks for the C and W update. Can I ask why the nnr power car won't be back in service for some time?

Certainly. The article actually refers to the Railway Museum's (NRM's) powercar, not the NNR's by the way (they're easily mixed up). The reason the NRM powercar will not be in service any time soon is because the decision has been made to not divert diesel department resources away from their first priority which was/is getting the NNR's powercar back into service after it's long running overhaul.

Once the NNR powercar is commissioned, hopefully later this year, we have some more engines which can then be prepared for service and fitted to the NRM powercar thus returning that one to traffic. It was simply a case of balancing the labour resources available at the present time, as we don't really want the small diesel department over stretched over too many projects! It seemed to be a sensible call in my view... I hope that answers your question!

For better or worse, that shot of the QuadArt progress board took me right back to the endless sub-assembly and test lists from my industrial project management days.

Updates are always a highlight of any day, so as always ... many thanks Chris and please keep 'em coming.

I love reading those C&W Blog entries; you feel like you're there and it's a privilege to see the transformation of the stock.

The first time I visited the NNR (in 1980 I think - I remember Peter Sellers's death being announced on the radio and I was on holiday with my family in Walberswick) I saw the little railbus: I have fond memories of that.

I can’t seem to find the ‘What’s Running’ page on the website.

Does anyone know what the planned steam motive power is for next week (Monday 18th onward)?

I know it doesn't nail it down exactly, but 92203 & 76084 have been steamed for this weekend so it is quite likely that one of these may be kept going for at least part of the week ahead? I will check the steaming plan in the shed if I remember!
