I know this has been mentioned on the Steam Dreams link but I thought it deserved it's own.

As per the other thread, there won't be any diesel assistance, either.

Thanks for this. I think the information might have gone unnoticed in the ‘Steam Dreams’ thread...

I guess that 45212 may head the return Carnforth-Victoria on Thusday 21 June ? I don't think any of the other engines listed are available at the moment.

Unless it comes down South and goes straight back up North (rostered at the KWVR on the Sunday) could be diesel hauled at the moment

45212 is actually rostered at the Worth Valley 20-22 June: http://kwvr.co.uk/kwvr-news-items/l...th-17th-june-and-weekday-18th-22nd-june-2018/

45212 is leading. Even if they had left with the A3 leading the 5 would have just climbed over it and gone to the front.

Surprised by this, as 60103 is rostered for the Scarborough Flyer (06:25 ex-Scarborough) on Saturday. This implies a long run LE on Friday, and three consecutive days of long distance running. Hardly the sparing use of 60103 that we had been led to expect. Weren't support crews supposed to be an issue?

Since when was a long light engine run hard on an engine? When tied in with the demands of working a number of trains in close succession it makes for a harder life for the support crew and since the engine is booked to operate the workings in question then I think that it might be safe to assume that question of support has been well addressed in typical Ian Riley fashion.
It would be of interest to get the views of Ian on his experiences of operating the A3 if only to balance the extreme negativity pursued by some.

RTT seems to have had no updates since the arrival at Acton Lane. Fortunately one of the other chaps on the bridge just past Headstone Lane station had an alternative source of information, so I knew when it was approaching. My rough and ready video can be seen at mellish.eu/Videos/Headstone Lane 2018-06-18.mp4
Not all the shaking is my fault: that bridge itself shakes when a train goes underneath.

OTT has no updates since Bletchley although their live map shows it approaching Long Buckby as I write this.
